Start our trip by visiting Roluos Group of temples, which was constructed when the ancient Khmers first settled in the Angkor region. There are 3 temples: Bakong, with beautiful carvings on its lintels that are still in good shape, Preahko temple which consists of 6 elegant brick towers with exquisite decoration and Lolei temple, an island temple.
The afternoon is spent for exploring the amazing World Heritage "Angkor Wat" - the world's largest religious building, and Phnom Bakheng (Bakheng hill) the first major temple to be constructed in the Angkor era, marking the move of Khmer empire's capital from Roluos to Angkor.
After breakfast, we drive to Banteay Srei (38km from city). Built in 967 AD by Jayavarman V's guru, it showcases the most exquisite, deep and complex carvings in all Khmer architecture. Have lunch at the local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit to the “Small Circuit” group of temples including: Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees, Thommanon built at the same time with Angkor Wat, Chau Say Tevoda temple, Banteay Kdei, surrounded by four concentric walls, Srah Srang, “The Royal Baths" was once used for ritual bathing and Ta Keo known as “ The mountain with golden peaks” dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, explore Tonle Sap Lake - the largest natural lake in Indochina, cruising for 1 or 2 hours to visit its floating villages and discover the waterfront life. Disembark and drive back to Siemreap through the peaceful countryside and quaint villages with lush rice fields and rows of palm. Visit the Artisans d’Angkor established in 1992 with the purpose of trainning young Cambodians in reestablishing the arts of their ancestral heritage and help increasing job opportunities. Drop by some workshops to know about the process of stone and wood carving. Then you are free & easy until transferring to the airport for the flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, check in hotel & relax. Overnight at the hotel in Phnom Penh.
Today you will visit the Victory Monument, and the National Museum, which contains a collection of Khmer art throughout the ages. Visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866, and the Silver Pagoda whose floor is made up of 5000 silver tiles. Then drive to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison) which was used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Then visit to Killing Fields “Choeung Ek", the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (from 1975–1979). The last site is Russian Markets where you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, silver products.
Breakfast at hotel. Then drive around 04 hours to the beautiful beach Sihanoukville (230km from Phom Penh). Upon arrival, check in hotel and free & easy. Overnight at the hotel in Sihanoukville.
You'll spend the next days enjoying free the beach of real white sand and crystal water in Sihanoukville.
You are free & easy until take the car back to Phnom Penh and pass through the spectacular rural landscape. Overnight at the hotel in Phnom Penh.
Breakfast at hotel and then transferring to the airport for the flight back your home country or to next destination. End of services.
